Dr Giovanna Speciale is Co-Founder and CEO of South East London Community Energy (SELCE), an award-winning community energy organisation delivering grassroots solutions to the climate and energy challenges facing local communities. Under her leadership, SELCE has developed over 500kW of community-owned renewable energy and energy-efficiency assets, while supporting circa 5,000 vulnerable households each year to reduce energy costs and carbon emissions. With a background in community-sector research and an MSc in Energy Policy, Giovanna has grown SELCE from a volunteer-led initiative into a thriving organisation, while remaining committed to a community-led, fair, and inclusive energy transition.
